Short description of the project

The fate of young Ukrainians on the labor market in Central Europe

The aim of the research is to try to answer the question about the fate of Ukrainians who arrived in Central Europe after the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine in 2022.
The armed conflict caused the migration of Ukrainians, to Central Europe, among other regions (by May 2022, Poland and Hungary are in the top 3 European Union countries who accepted Ukrainians).
The project is interdisciplinary and aims to examine the mental condition of young Ukrainians in Central Europe, their plans for further migration or return to their homeland,
and the degree of risk of social exclusion.
Particular attention will be paid to researching the fate of young immigrants in their new countries, including the issues of participation in the labour market or education, taking
into account, inter alia, such variables as education and social status of the respondents.
Another important aspect will be to determine the percentage of young people who fall into the category of the so-called NEET (not in employment, education or training).

IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 01/09/2022–01/03/2024

The project has been supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the Urgency Grants 2022 programme.
